Winter hike

So a few people from work thought it would be fun to go on a hike this 

last Saturday. It was pretty neat/scary. We ended up hiking almost to the top of a mountain where there was a waterfall that had frozen over. It was just the surface of it because you could still see the water flowing under the ice. I didn't get the best pic because I had Jess with me so I was trying to not drop my phone while she kept wandering around. 

This is what happened to pup about 5 minutes after we got back home. She got to spend 3 hours palling around with a new dog friend all up and down a mountain so she slept...for like the next day and a half!

So we went to an art fair in Idaho and these guys were there doing this crazy sand castle. There was some really neat stuff going on. Home made soaps, cool wood crafts, lots of awesome wall art. We ended up getting some quirky mugs since we are tea people. We also walked around downtown and ran across a really big metal weed!

Pups first swimming lesson

So we finally got a life jacket for Jessie. Joel found a nice place on the river about ten minutes away from the apartment. The river is low right now so there was plenty of spots for Jess to splash around in on her own. After a bit we both got in the water with her. Joel at one point grabbed the handle on her vest and swung her out into slightly deeper water. She paddled toward the shore and coughed up water but she kept walking back over to him. Today we went back and we tried to show her how to keep her head up so she wouldn't get so much water up her nose. She did better today, I think she just needs to get some confidence in her swimming and then we probably won't be able to get her to come back to us :)

Sorry it's been a while. Joel and I are doing well but poor Jess had been kind of bored recently. We try to get her walks in on nice days but it has just been so windy and wet recently. We also ended up giving her a bath the other day to help with her itchy skin.  She wasn't super happy but she feels so soft now!
We ordered our rings the other week from Etsy. https://www.etsy.com/listing/113162458/meteorite-ring-inlaid-in-titanium?ref=shop_home_active_8. We modified it a little bit from the original posting and it should get here by the end of March. We are really excited. I'm not really a ring person but this is definitely something that not many people are going to have.
We went to our first hockey game out here on Sunday. It was pretty fun. The home team the Chiefs beat their big rival 7-0. Good game and the crowd was fun to be a part of. They have an arena in town and I'm pretty sure we will be regulars there.
I have stuff that I need to send out to everyone I just need to stop being a bum and get to the post office:) I really am having fun making things for people. The only down side is that I know have a huge list of things I want to do and only so much time to work on things.

So here are a couple of more photos. The top one is me trying on my dress. Pup just looked so cute so I had her join in. The bottom one is a panorama of the pier that we has the ceremony at. You can't tell but it is a triangle that the middle of the picture is the point of. We had a really lucky day because it was grey all that morning and then just a little over an hour before the clouds cleared out and we have that beautiful sky you see. It was still cold, I had my jacket on and the minister was in gloves, but it was worth it.
